Design Formulas

  Q = √(R_high/R_low − 1)        [min Q for given impedance ratio]

  For R_L < R_s (step-down, shunt element at source):
    X_shunt = R_s / Q             [capacitive: shunt C at R_s port]
    X_series = Q · R_L            [inductive: series L at R_L port]

  For R_L > R_s (step-up, shunt element at load):
    X_shunt = R_L / Q             [capacitive: shunt C at R_L port]
    X_series = Q · R_s            [inductive: series L at R_s port]

  Component values at frequency f:
    L = X_L / (2π·f)
    C = 1 / (2π·f·X_C)
