Getting Started – 3 Steps
- Install RF View: Search "RF View" on Google Play → Install (free, 25 MB, Android 6.0+)
- Get a .s2p file: Download from manufacturer website (SimSurfing for Murata, etc.), export from VNA, or receive via email
- Open and plot: Open RF View → S-Parameter Plot tab → tap folder icon → select .s2p → instant plot
S-Parameter Plot Tab Overview
Default view: S11 in dB vs frequency Switching views (tap view selector at top): - S11 dB: input reflection coefficient - S21 dB: forward transmission (gain or insertion loss) - S12 dB: reverse transmission - S22 dB: output reflection coefficient - VSWR: voltage standing wave ratio (from S11 or S22) - Phase: S21 or S11 phase in degrees - Group Delay: S21 phase derivative (nanoseconds) - Smith Chart: S11 or S22 as complex impedance on Smith chart
Adding and Reading Markers
Single marker: 1. Tap the marker icon in toolbar 2. Tap on the trace at any point → marker bubble appears 3. Shows: frequency + parameter value at that point 4. Drag to move along the trace BW Marker (automatic bandwidth): 1. Tap marker icon → select BW Marker mode 2. RF View auto-finds the peak (or valley) and −3 dB crossing points 3. Displays: f₀, f₁, f₂, bandwidth, Q_L Delta Marker (relative measurement): 1. Set reference marker at one point 2. Activate Δ mode → move to second point 3. Shows: Δfreq and Δlevel between two points
Loading Multiple Files for Comparison
1. Load first file (tap folder icon → select file 1) 2. Tap "+" button → select file 2 → loads as second trace 3. Up to 8 files can be loaded simultaneously 4. Each file gets a unique color 5. Legend shows filename for each trace 6. Table Marker: one marker reads all traces simultaneously
Exporting Results
- Export to CSV: tap share icon → "Export CSV" → saves to Downloads
- Take screenshot: phone screenshot (power+volume) captures the plot
- Share file: tap share icon → send .s2p via email, Drive, Dropbox
